Download the App & Sign In

Step 1: Download the BioCertica App from your mobile app store. Search BioCertica or click on the applicable app store below:

Step 2: Open the BioCertica App and select Sign in.

Create Account

Step 3: Go to the Don’t have an account? section on the bottom of the screen and click on the Create an Account button.

Register Kit

Step 4: Fill in the Create an account section with your email, first name, and last name. Ensure you tick the Terms and Conditions checkbox. Click Continue.

Step 5: Open your email app and click on the Magic link sent. If the link was not successful, enter the code in the email.

Step 6: Follow the on-screen prompts to enter the app.

Step 7: Ensure you enable notifications never to miss any updates related to your DNA results.

Step 8: Once in the app, click on the first section Get started and click on Register a Kit.

Step 9: Enter your BioCertica Kit info: BioCertica ID (number on the card) and you can scan the barcode code on the BioCertica card. For Swab Label (this is the BCRT number)and you can scan the swab label barcode (a sticker on the side of the plastic sample box).

Step 10: Click on Register and then Continue to Pickup Schedule.

Book your Courier

Carefully consider the time and location of your collection before booking. You will receive a booking confirmation via email upon completion of this step.

If you are using a third party courier who asks for a waybill address at pick up, please add the following:

BIOCERTICA, CAF DNA SEQUENCING UNIT, ROOM B102, BLOCK B, JC SMUTS BUILDING, STELLENBOSCH UNIVERSITY, VAN DER BIJL STREET, STELLENBOSCH, 7600

Step 11: The first screen will be to select an area from the Aramex courier guide.

Step 12: Enter your suburb and postal code and click on Next at the bottom of the screen.

Step 13: Choose the courier option best suited for you and click on Next at the bottom of the screen.

Step 14: Add your pickup and contact details. Carefully consider the time and date of collection to ensure you are available for the courier pickup. Click on Schedule pickup at the bottom of the screen.

Your pickup is now scheduled.

If you want to reschedule your collection, follow the steps in your collection confirmation email sent. 

Saliva Sample

Preparation: Please DO NOT eat, drink, smoke or chew gum atleast 30 minutes to 1 hour before providing your sample. This includes not drinking any water, kissing your partner or being sick. If you experience any symptoms of sickness (flu or cold like symptoms), we recommend providing your sample until you are healthy and feeling 100%. If you provide a sample while sick, the chance of sample failure is higher. 

We recommend taking your sample in the morning an hour after brushing your teeth, taking the guidance of no eating or drinking in that hour. You can schedule collection for the day after taking your sample.

Step 15: Fill the tube with saliva until it reaches the “Saliva” line - not including bubbles.

Do not fill above this line, may cause leakage.

Step 16: For the saliva to be released into the solution, unscrew the funnel.

Step 17: Seal the sample properly with the blue cap, ensuring it is screwed on as tightly as possible.

Shake the solution for 5 seconds.

Shaking the sample mixes the saliva with the buffer solution which keeps the sample stable. The sample will remain stable at room temperature and out of direct sunlight.

After sample is ready for pickup

Step 18 Place your sample inside the sample bag, seal it tightly and place it back into your BioCertica DNA test kit box. 

Step 19: Place your DNA test kit box into the courier bag.

If you are using a third party courier who asks for a waybill address at pick up, please add the following:

Step 20: Once Aramex collects your sample, they will ask for a bar code. Select the See Barcode button under your Track progress section on the home screen.

Step 21: The barcode will display on screen and should be scanned by the Aramex courier collector. This barcode is your digital waybill. Please note that you do not need a physical waybill.

Track progress

You can track your kit progress on the app and view various articles on what is happening to your sample during this process. 

Remember to enable in-app notifications for updates.

Support Questions

Where is my waybill?

Instead of a paper waybill, you will receive a digital waybill which you can access on your app. Please refer to steps 20 and 21 above.

What if the courier doesn't come?

If this happens please email info@biocertica.com and let us know the collection address, your contact details and the day/time for us to reschedule the collection. We apologies for the inconvenience.

What if I accidentally selected the wrong collection method?

No problem! Please email info@biocertica.com and we can help schedule a collection or cancel one.

I have an issue when dropping my package off at Postnet.

Unfortunately, some Postnet branches struggle with the digital waybill. Please ask that they charge the delivery to BioCertica's account and that the package is sent delivered to:

Why is there an error message when I register?

When registering your kit in the app, please make sure to:
1. Scan the barcode code on your premium member card.
2. Scan the barcode on the side of the saliva tube box.
If you encounter issues with scanning the codes, you can manually register your kit by entering the following information:
BioCertica ID: This is the number on your premium member card that starts with 589...
Saliva Sample: This is the BCRT number found on your saliva tube. Enter "BCRT" followed by the last 4 digits of the barcode.
If these steps don’t resolve the issue, please email info@biocertica.com.

Will the sample get ruined if it is not shipped the same day?

Your sample will be fine as long as you keep it out of direct sunlight and ensure it is well mixed with the solution in the tube. This solution is a buffer that will keep the sample stable but please do send your sample in as soon as possible.

When do I get my results?

Your results will be available 6–8 weeks from the time we receive your sample. If there is a delay, we will be in touch.
